The brilliant and engaging Melita Thomas, founder of Tudor Times and historical broadcaster working with the likes of Lucy Worsley, will be giving a talk about her recently published book, 1000 Tudor People here in September. Starting at 2pm on 23 September within the walls of our atmospheric and historically relevant Bolton Castle, Melita’s 45 minute talk will reveal the fascinating facts and stories about the Tudors which Dr Tracy Borman, Joint-Curator of the Historic Royal Palaces who wrote the book’s Forward, calls ‘meticulously researched’ and a ‘fascinating compendium … a must-have for every devotee of the Tudor period.’ Melita’s talk opens a treasure trove of Tudor stories of people from across the social strata from monarchs, military and musicians, to Knights of the Garter, rebels and witches. It’s a talk that opens a window on the lives of movers and shakers in Tudor England delivered in an engaging and relaxed manner. A must for both history lovers and those that just enjoy an event steeped in the past. The afternoon culminates with Q&A and book-signing.
Tickets £15 per person.
