Dark skies, A knight under the stars at Bolton Castle, greeted with mulled wine to warm you up on a winters night, as the evening progresses your taste buds will be tingling with cosmic canapes prepared by Fairhursts Catering
We’ll have telescopes and binoculars at the ready to take you on an amazing tour of the heavens as part of the 3rd Dark Skies Festival. Distant galaxies and sparkling star clusters will be amongst our targets as the constellation of Leo dominates the eastern sky and magnificent Orion is at its highest as night falls. We will also keep eyes peeled for shooting stars and satellites scuttling overhead. But we’ll start with a colourful beginners’ talk to set the scene and answer some of those questions you’ve always wanted to ask. You will even get the chance to handle four billion year old rocks from outer space.
