In my end is my beginning is the motto to one of the most enigmatic characters in British history, Mary Queen of Scots.
Having fallen out with her lords and then losing the battle of Langside against them, Mary fled Scotland to England, coming ashore near to Workington on the Cumbrian coast on May 16 th 1568, eventually being brought to Bolton Castle on July 15 th in the same year.
