The castle will be open daily from 12th to 25th February, then weekends only from 26th February until 29th March when we will open every day (except for wedding dates specified below) until 2nd November.

Bolton Castle is one of the country’s best preserved medieval castles; originally built as one of the finest and most luxurious homes in the land, the castle bears the scars of over 600 years of fascinating history. The castle is still in the private ownership of Lord Bolton, the direct descendant of the castle’s original owner Sir Richard le Scrope

Opening Times 2017:
Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm, from 1st April to 29th October 2017.
We will be closed on the following Saturdays due to weddings: 20th May, 17 & 24 June, 15th & 22nd July, 12 August.
Season Tickets:
Purchase a season ticket giving you unlimited visits to the Castle, Gardens and Grounds. Tickets available for Castle and Gardens or Gardens only and for individuals, couples and various family groups.

Group Visits:
We offer a discounted rate on admission for groups of 15 people or more as well as an exciting range of group packages and guided tours.
Guided Tours:
Fascinating costumed guided tours available for groups of 15 or more when booked in advance. Group discount applies. Tours additional £2 per person.
No Dogs:
Please note dogs are not allowed in the Castle and due to the falconry experience we cannot allow dogs in the gardens as they can frighten the birds.
Access:
Please be aware that the castle is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and is not easily accessible for those with reduced mobility as spiral stairs and uneven surfaces exist throughout the building.
